Built in pools for 125g HELP!

I have gotten a ton of information from some posts and members here, but I was wondering if someone who has done built in pools can enlighten me as to how they did there's and show pics.

I am going to use glass and just have to get it measures out and cut. I am going to do half of the end salt and the other half fresh. I also bought filtration systems for each side. Haven't really figured out where those will go though since I don't technically have a top to connect them too. Would love to get some help from someone who has done these before!

Everyone I know who did them removed them after a couple of years because they leaked and flooded the tank...

I heard that won't be as likely to happen if you use glass vs plexiglass

No, they used glass. Silicon won't stick to silicone, so there is no way to get a permanent seal in the corners.

It would be a lot of work but if it is that joint that fails each time as wode said then it would be smart to redo all the silicone in the tank at the same time or at the very least the bottom half that needs to be water tight I would imagine

^^^ This. According to many fish tank people that "DIY reseal a tank" it's not that hard. Might be something worth IMO. (A quick google of fish forums and looking at resealing a fish tank will help give clear instructions)

Do you have a picture of your filters that you could post? If you are needed a 'top to connect them to', I'm guessing you have gone with HOB (hang-on-back) filters. One input that I would have is to be wary of clogging in the filters (which is usually heard with a vigorous rattling sound) with sand/coco fibre that the crabs would drag in. An option is to put rocks outside of the pools so that not as much is dragged in and/or fit a fine-porous sponge over the filter intake to reduce the amount of gunk taken in.
