HCA: Hermit Crab Association

So next week I'm going to set up bubblers in my tank. I use 2 sandwich tupperwares with mesh canvas as ramps. They are very deep dishes and all is well there but I'd like to make them bubblers. If someone would explain the most cost effective way to create bubblers in both pools that would be great. I know you need a. Air stone and tubes other than that not 100 % sure what i need to do. Any help appreciated thanks !

I would get a small air pump like this (you could probably get away with a single outlet) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture ... s/10532634

And 1 of these (2 for a double outlet pump) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture ... s/10536127

Then just some airline tubing and 2 air stones. The gang valve will allow you to control the flow of air so it can be more or less bubbly but its not 100% necessary.

Thanks for the help i don't want it to be crazy bubbles or anything just enough to keep up humidity in the winter and to make it look nice. I'll look into all this thanks again

No. They usually are little, round and blue and are like 50 cents. They will be by the airline tubing.

The small size of air stones is all u will need and a T connector to connect both of your tubing from your pools into 1 tube to connect to your air pump. The 2 way gang valve helps to control how much bubbling u get so u can adjust it as needed. Put the bubblers on a timer so it keeps the humidity in the tank stable

So i needed 3 tubes right , 2 air stones , and one t connector and one pump right ?

How do you connect the gang valve and also doesn't it help humidity of its on all the time ?

In Australia, we buy the tubes per meter. If its similar in the US, than one tube is enough. (They easy to cut with scissors) If not, ignore this!
But yes, those items are needed.
The gang valve can depend on what you buy, some require the tube to be connected with it (cut the tube with scissors and connect) but others "pinch" the tube, so no additional cutting is required.

(And yes, bubblers help the humidity!)

I know they help the humidity. But thjs person above made he seem like it only helps if it's on a timer. Wasn't sure why they wouldn't just keep it on all the time is what i was asking.

I personally use mine constantly, but a timer could be useful if your humidity is extra high and you don't need them running constantly.

My humidity is already high and i don't even use them i haven't had any issues with the humidity being below 85. But i figure in the winter i will need bubblers with the heater on.

My apologies - effects of a tired brain! Like said above, not necessary to have it on a timer. I have mine on timers because sometimes depending on time of day, the humidity would spike up to over 90. Don't need to buy 3 separate tubings either. Just one tube is fine and just cut to lengths u need
