Switching Pools

Post by piratetoothgir » Tue Apr 24, 2018 6:36 am

Currently, I use these big heavy corner bowls, and it’s a hassle to change them every few days, so I want to change them. I am going to use almost the same size, just a small differences in width, barely any in length. The depth is almost twice as much.

I will be using large Tupperware containers, and doubling them up with a airstone in each. I will place small pebble gravel between them to add more friction for easy removal.

I use daily these back in my old crabbing days, and didn’t like them because they weren’t doubled up, I didn’t have enough of them to do that. This time I know I will like them better when doubled, and better discipline with water changes.

My crabs were also a little small for them, they couldn’t get in and out very easily. I know have big guys, so they need a deeper bowl.

are you using rocks, or tiny gravel? I just switched to the small gravel for fish tanks and i was wondering if anyone else has used that kind. I had rocks before but the gravel seems to fill the bowls a little better and make it easier for them to get in and out.
