Is this water safe for hermit crabs?

Post by Oliviet#1 » Tue Mar 19, 2019 9:00 am

Hi, I looked at the conditioners on hermitcrabassociation, and when I saw reptisafe, it said it covered Chloramine, ammonia, slime coat, and heavy metals. I ordered one from amazon thinking I was getting something good, but once I got it I noticed it didn’t say it got rid of heavy metals. I tapped the return button, and they said it was illegible (or something) to return. Now I’m stuck with a conditioner that won’t get rid of heavy metals. Now here’s my real question, is spring water with no added minerals safe by itself?
I have had pets in the past, but my family can’t have any furry or feathered ones due to allergies. I usually try my best to help and currently trying to set up a crabitat. I also try to treat others with Love!❤️

It depends on the brand, but generally not, since bottled water is often just expensive tap water.

I’m surprised though, my bottle of Reptisafe said it treated heavy metals. Did they change their formula?

Looks they did change it recently - I am so sorry! I'm going to update our list now.

I would recommend opening a claim (or however they do it on Amazon so you can get a real person) and ask why it can't be returned. It might be a mistake. I've never not had a company allow a return or refund by inquiring nicely and explaining the problem.

Thanks, how do you open a claim on amazon?

Guess what! (I bought the reptisafe and a lizard ladder together) I contacted customer service saying I didn’t mean to buy the reptisafe and they refunded me for both items saying I can keep, donate, etc, with the products! They also said if I order the new product I need, they will pay for shipping!
