Mesh for pools

Hello!
I put together my pool. I used those mesh non-slip grip mats that you use for under your dish rack or to line your cabinets so your plates don't slip. Should those be fine? Are they safe?

I never heard of anyone using that stuff. I personally wouldn't use that stuff. I believe a bored crab would probably pick that to shreds in no time. It would make a huge mess it clean up in the tank plus they may try to eat it too.

Thank you! I took it out and I’ll get a hold of the normal stiff plastic mesh that I see a lot of people use. I think they have it at my craft store.

We usually find the crafting mesh at craft stores like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. It around $0.75 a sheet.

I completely agree with what Motöcrab mentioned above. It is called craft mesh. Usually found in the knitting section. Walmart also carries it - but there it is not sold in individual sheets.

Thanks everyone! I took out that mesh. I got the craft mesh from Joann’s. I’m going to put together the pools tomorrow. For tonight they had little pools, the ones that are sold as hermit crab bowls but are too shallow. It is just one night then they will get new pools tomorrow morning!
