Posted this in crab care but after some exploring I've discovered there's a whole different section that relates more to my question so ill post it here too. So I'm very new to this group and have been using it heaps over the past few weeks. I've never owned hermit crabs before but growing up id always wanted some and decided its time. I want to get things correct from the get go so I haven't actually got any crabs just yet as I'm making sure I have everything in order. I live in Australia and I'm finding from reading other forums that finding Salt mixes that are recommended are commonly hard to come by if you aren't ordering online atleast. I saw the brand Red Sea being recommended a few times and after some searching I found a local aquarium store that supplies one of their products. I want to make sure that its actually the right one before purchasing or if it even matters between the two but when I search Red Sea I get two products by them the first one being the one I've found locally 'Coral Pro Salt - Red Sea' and the other only found online. 'Red Sea Salt - Red Sea' I of course would prefer to travel locally as I can get it faster and its more affordable but is the coral pro salt the correct salt or is it the red sea salt that everyone is recommending??
Thanks,
Mads

Either one should work. So long as it’s made for marine aquariums you can use whatever brand you like

Salts for reef and coral tanks usually have slightly more of a mineral boost, so as the coral takes up what it needs the levels stay a bit more stable over time. It would have no real effect on our hermits though, so like Joe said either is good.
