How often do I need to clean out my hermit's aquarium?
And do you think I can make a little pond or something, Where can I find those water pumps (?) that some of you have?? :?

I use a Small World air filter:

I change the bowl completely once a month, but I don't think it's quite powerful enough. I may have to start changing the filter and water every three weeks.

I've heard of others using this one:

Or something similar. You just need to try a few out. The Small World ones are cheap at any rate.

Does that pump the water or clean it or... ? Lol, I'm not good with aquarium things like that.

It's just a filter, at least the Small World one is. It's run by an air pump outside your aquarium.

You need to think about whether or not you want your crabs having access to an electrical cord in a water bowl. That's why I chose the Small World, as it's an air-run device and even if the crabs cut through the air hose, they won't electrocute themselves.

Oh yes, and how would I dechlorinate that water? Or does the filter dechlorinate it for me? And where can I get an air pump?

The filter doesn't dechlorinate; it just removes organic wastes from the water; i.e., crab poop and food residues. You'd have to dechlorinate as usual, or use distilled water. That's what I prefer to use as a water base.

Here's a pic of mine:

Image

It's just an Anchor 12 cup bake & keep glass dish. It has a Small World filter in it, and honeycomb onyx for the crabs to get in and out. And live mangrove seedlings. They never last very long; the brevis and cavs like to munch on them.

Thats awesome :D

Are their anyother types of fish or fishy-like things that I could possibly keep in my hermit's tank?

Ok, I need to get a filter, airpump, water pump(?) or should I use the air pump? <- Sorry I just need to be sure
