Filters work great!

If you remember from my post, I got two Duetto 50 three-stage filters for my fresh and saltwater ponds.

I've got some great results to report. The water is still clear. After about 1-2 weeks, the outflow water decreases significantly, indicating the mechanical filter has become saturated.

But it's really simple. I just turn them off, open it up, and rinse out the "mechanical filter" (which is really just a fancy mesh sponge) to get rid of the clogged up guck (mostly eco-earth), and pop it back in, and it works like new again!

I run those in my betta tanks and I absolutely LOVE them. I am planning on using them in my new tank when I set it up.

Good to know they are still working for you!!

How do you deal with the issue of claws and electrical wires? I'm very interested in those filters, but I'm using Small World ones because they're just air driven. I have some jumbos that can tear anything up and I'd hate for them (or me) to get accidentally electrocuted.
