Hey guys! I was wondering if you have some pool ideas you could share with me. Can you give me some ideas?

Do you know anyone that does fibreglassing? If you do, dig a hole in the ground, the shape and depth you want your pool, line it will plastic (like a plastic bag, gel coat it, fibreglass it, gel coat again and while the final coat of gel coat is still wet, sprinkle with lots and lots of sand. When it cures, brush of the loose sand and you end up with an extremely natural sandy pool.
You can't go wrong with dishes filled with pebbles. You can change the pebbles to totally change the look and it's easy to adjust the depth of the water too.

I'll try the one with the pebbles and dishes. But will it be hard to clean?

No, not at all. Just take it out and rinse it. The pebbles can easily be cleaned by pouring boiling water over them.

I've seen a few people who use critter keepers. Just have to give the crabs a way to get out. I use Tupperware bowls. I just aquarium sealanted two rocks to make climbable steps and lined the bottom with river rocks. :3

i made a pool out of a 4 in by 3 in container that has a 2 in depth and put shells inside for them to climb out on, they love it but my crabs are small so you might need something bigger.

My friend Phoebe just listed some new crab pools and a great stump hut on her etsy site

Sounds cool, but I'm too young to have dollars...

Do you get frozen dinners near you? Ive used the microwaveable containers that they come in as pools. Ive had some come in some very cool shapes and they are usually black. Some even have more then one section that the crabs can climb on. Maybe look in your kitchen to see what is not in use?

Ok, we actually have many plastic containers in the kitchen.

Those are mine. They're just those plastic bowls that some sort of lunch meat comes in from the deli section. Washed well, rinsed and air dried, I will admit that I used hot glue to secure the nets, as it does hold to plastic a bit better.

Sebby, I really like that idea with the fishnet for access. I have similar containers I use for pools and have been trying to come up with a new idea to allow easy in and out access for my smaller crabs, but still leave plenty of room in the dishes for my bigger crabs to submerge if they choose to. I may have to try making some like yours...I think I have a few scrap pieces of netting tucked away, and I have tons of those plastic containers to experiment on.
