Do hermit crabs molt in moss pits? I have a hermit crab chilling in the tower moss pit that I made and hasn't move from it for 5 days now. she's still alive dosent smell but does move still when I poke her shell cant really see me but I can see her. any thoughts?

They can, but it's not a safe and secure spot, so it would usually indicate some issue with either the crab's health and strength or the conditions of the crabitat being less than ideal.

Did she climb up there by herself, or did you put her up there?

I just had one of my hermit crabs get done molting he is a small size but hes up and running like crazy atm but im just wondering about my medium size hermit crab. she did come down awhile ago but then went back up there and this time stayed there for a good 5 days now. maby she came down when I was sleeping but it looks as if none of the moss fell out of the pit and I have a lot in there she dug in there just chilling.

I took her out of it because I had to update the tank just added the final touch by adding a salt water pool and she was still in good shape no signs of molting yet.
