Hi everyone,
I have a hermit crab who has been molting for the past month at least. He's taken a long time to molt and when he finally resurfaced he was still a very light pink! He's out and about though, roaming around the tank no problem. I did a little research and I couldn't find anything mentioning hermit crabs staying that color. I know they change color sometimes after molting, but I've never seen on stay pink before. Has anyone else had this issue? Should I be worried? His behavior hasn't changed at all. Thanks!

If he's moving around normally then that means that he should be done Molting. They can turn shades of pink after a molt, but it usually fades and darkens as time goes on. You should only be concerned if his exoskeleton seems soft and malleable.

I know this was posted a while ago but do you happen to have any pictures of this? I'm just curious as to what a pink crab looks like hahaha

Are you using the interwebs or the tapatalk app? Because I don't know how to do it on the internet but could tell you how on the app lol. The app makes adding pictures SOOOOO much easierjweeks wrote:how do I post a picture?

It's possible it's just a color change but it could also be he came up a bit soon for whatever reason. If that's the case, he may dig down again for a while and will likely darken up over time. I wouldn't be overly worried.
