First up!

Post by AML » Sat Jun 04, 2016 7:08 pm

So I am still a pretty new crabby mom. When I got my new tank set up the 3 I moved buried and then I bought 2 more and they also buried. This was like a month or so ago so it's been pretty quiet. Well, the first one up from molting is Gajeel!! So excited one came up with a successful molt!!! 4 more to go lol. I was getting worried about them. :)

I loved when Capt. Jack came up from his molt, then within 4 days changed shells twice!! But alas he's back down again!

Do they typically go down for a molt, resurface and go back down? I thought that once they molt they stay up until their next molt??? Fill me in on this cause I am a new crabber

Some crabs like to dig and seem to never be above ground. You may witness them eating and drinking in the middle of the night. Then they disappear again.

Back to back molts can be a thing if the crab is trying to repair an injury.

One more question on molting...My E just resurfaced after 3 1/2 weeks. It was her first molt (and mine). Will her future molts last the same duration or is each molt different?
