White crab! Should i be concerned?

Post by xambackwards » Tue Mar 05, 2019 9:54 pm

Hi!
I have two smaller crabs in a 10g tank
They have been fine for about a year, eating fruit they have everything they need. Recently one of them seemed to have lost an arm and buried himself I am not sure why and I have been keeping a closer eye on them. I noticed a few arms and a pincher on the top of the substrate so i thought he had died when i found his shell he had a new, smaller pincher and all of his legs. He is also super white so i gave him some chicken and strawberries. Other one seems to be fine. Is this normal? Should i introduce new things into his diet because he is white? Is losing all of his legs and pincher and re growing them shortly after normal? Thanks!

Oh, the limbs you found on the substrate and the new white crab means it molted. The crab only needs his exo skeleton at this point.

Can you fill out the emergency template so we can troubleshoot why the crab molted on the surface?
