My crabby (June) has developed white spots on his legs for about a month. He is way overdue for a molt (it's been almost a year since his last one) but I'm not sure why he won't molt and if these white spots are related.
He hasn't shown any other signs of needing to molt. He isn't sluggish or seeming weak---he runs on his wheel almost 12 hours a day and he still climbs up logs and around the tank. He also hasn't been digging or even tried to dig. There is plenty of room (over 12+ inches deep in a giant 60-gallon tank) and the coco fiber/sand mixture is the same sandcastle consistency as with his previous molts. The temperature and humidity are a consistent 85/80. He has the entire tank to himself and is already in isolation. He eats often - I give him a variety of meals from Etsy sellers with seafood and fresh fruits and vegetables like bananas and grapes. I also tried giving him extra cuttlebone and greensand since I noticed the spots and it hasn't helped with his color.
Here are some photos of June and the spots on his legs. (Please let me know if the images don't show up! They weren't working in my last post for some reason.)

I dont' know why he hasn't molted, but his color looks like normal variation to me.

Re: Losing exo?
I'm with Curly. It looks like just a neat natural coloration on his legs.

Might be his Exo getting dull which happens before a molt sometimes.

Re: Losing exo?
My vote is for a tight opening on his shell, where he's physically scraping those spots on his legs when he moves around. Their coloration is pretty shallow, it doesn't go all the way through their exo. Any kind of scrubbing will cause white spots.
