how long do i wait before becoming concerned?

hey there!! my hermie started molting on september 5th, he took a new shell down with him but it’s been more than a month now and i was just wondering at what point do i start being concerned?Image

Each crab takes a different amount of time to molt. Some jumbos can take more than 6 months!
It's hard to wait, but just remember: if he's dead, digging him up won't do any good. If he's alive, digging him up could kill him.

At least four months is a good guideline - but remember that they can come up and go back down fairly quickly, so unless you have a camera and are CERTAIN that they haven't come up and gone back, there is no harm in waiting longer. The exception is if there is an emergency like a flood or bacterial bloom - those can be deadly so a crab would need to be dug up.

update!!
i’m so happy to say my little puddle came up tonight!! i was starting to convince myself that he has died during his motel because it’s felt like so long! he’s up with a beautiful new shell! the wait was definitely worth it!! (sorry for bad quality photos, my camera is broke)i got out of the shower and he was just up and running around!!Image
