The hermit crab trade is actually pretty awful. If your shop gets them by the hundreds, think of how many other shops do as well - and how many crabs are being removed from the wild, often to die within a few months of the new owners getting them. They aren't transported in good condtions, often are not kept in good conditions in pet stores or souvenir stores, and often succumb because of that. Also to get the crabs out of the shells they were wearing in the wild, and into a painted shell means that they were ripped forcefully out of the old shell, the old shell was crushed off of the crab (possibly injuring or killing the crab in the process), or the shell was painted with the crab in it. It is worth doing a bit of reading to be aware of how the crabs actually get from the wild into captivity.

Another update! She is back to her original digging spot from a few days ago! Why is she moving around so much digging? Is she looking for gold? 😂

She's probably trying to find a good molting spot. Or just having fun. No reason to worry!

I am less worried about her now then I was at first. She is the smaller of the too, and while she is social, she's much less social then Frog. I was worried at first that she was isolating since he is molting, if that's even a thing. But now that she is eating and drinking again, and digging in different spots, I am a lot less worried.
