So what do they smell like when molting?

I have heard they smell kinda dead so how does one know?

mine smelled like sea brine (iodine-ish) for a while. I'm pretty sure Clyde molted because he was a brighter color when he came up.

In my experience, it's a sharp chemical odor, like cleaning chemicals or antiseptic. But I've only smelt it when a molter has been exposed e.g. under a water dish and I've lifted the dish up not knowing they were there.
