Many crab keepers have to add water to the substrate several times per week to keep it moist enough. Some find that the best method is to pour a little water into each corner of the tank every few days, or as needed. Or you can try misting more frequently.
With regards to the food being buried, try cutting large chunks of food and putting it all on a bamboo skewer. That way, they can't drag it off and bury it.
For the heating, you will probably need to buy a lamp fixture and either a ceramic heater or a heating bulb. If you go with a heating bulb, get one that is suitable for night time and doesn't emit much light so that it can be on all night without disrupting their day/night cycle.

Re: crabs keep dieing after molting
thank you.
I may have to do that soon. I have been trying to keep that house warmer in general. Right now the tank is around 85 degrees which the E's love. They get so energetic when the temp is right. But when the out side temps go down I can barely keep this house warm enough for humans let alone crabs.
I've been pouring water in every once in a while, trying not to do it where crabs are buried though, so as not to drown them. But it seems like the humidity goes down very quickly.
Well before I was using a mix with Eco earth which I know eco earth is much better at holding humidity.
