my gut tells me to dig my mind tells me no since im a new crabber .1) i dont know if shes ever molted 2) no fishy smell like ppl say there is all i can smell is wet sand. 3) from what ive read most crabbies from pet smart seem to die when they molt from the posts i have read. I will give her a few more weeks and if she doesnt come up i shall dig..... i have an iso ready for her if i find her alive.

I wouldn't start worrying unless she's been down 3-4 months. It won't hurt to wait, but it can hurt or kill her if you dig her up and she's mid-molt.

I'm not sure where you read most crabs from Petsmart die when they molt..almost all mine are from there and I've never lost one to a molt. Some have died for other reasons, but the only I lost during molting was a Petco crab.
Crabbing since July 2014! 75 gallon with 12 Purple Pinchers.

They are both cute, and Morrigan's coloring is gorgeous! See, there was nothing to worry about, but first molts are always hard to wait out.
