If there are no issues with his body, get him shelled in something he has worn the longest beside his old shell. Can you examine his old shell? Has he been swimming with his old shell on or no shell?

I just looked him over the best that I could, I don't see any mites or injuries. He normally swims with his shell on, but last night he came out of his shell while swimming and just continued to streak. His favorite shell is currently occupied by Zeus, his old shell is cleaned and has been checked, nothing. How should I go about coaxing him into a shell?
