I have a medium size purple pincher and lately he's became very sluggish and kind of moves the sand around but never buries. Tonight he dug to the bottom of the moss pit. He has 3-3.5 inches of loose moss covering him. He never usually buries completely so I'm concerned he's molting. If he is what should I do?

Crabs love burying in moss. Could he just be needing some comfort? 4 of my 5 crabs generally stay in my 2 moss pits, for what its worth

He could just be hanging out like YYWW said. But I would keep a close eye on things, just in case he pulls a moss pit molt. If that's the case, you can move the whole moss pit into ISO without disturbing him too much. Hoping he's just hanging out. Moss pit molts seem to happen mostly when a crab is just too weak to dig down for whatever reason. Good luck!

I agree with Calla to keep an eye on him. I've had several crabs molt in a moss pit. They were new crabs that I'm guessing were too weak to dig down.
