Mr. Energy is back and ready to... dig under again.

He came, he saw, he... reburied himself.

Mr. Energy was my first molter. He was always a tornado in the tank, hence the name. As soon as I saw he was up, I added his favorite food (fresh shredded coconut) Into his tank.

He ate at first but then got to work pulling -all- of the coconut into his tunnel.

It wouldn't surprise me if he's down there chowing down and regaining strength. I haven't seen him topside for two days but I'm not worried. If he's well enough to do all that work, He's probably alright. I have 3 out of 4 molting crabs so the nights are quiet. Not much else to report.

I saw him again last night. He's a big mud ball, all covered in sand. I looked around and he hasn't finished eating his coconut from last time so I haven't added any more. Mr. Energy was a small but now he's on the borderline medium. It must have been a huge molt.

His tank mate Mr. Shy is also molting. I noted a fishy smell in the middle of the night and that was probably Mr Shy finally breaking free of his confining husk. No doubt the sound of Mr. Energy and the smell of his dinner moved the process along.
