I have two hermit crabs, one of which just finished molting about a week and a half ago. My other crab is trying to dig down to molt, but my concern is that the freshly molted crab is trying to dig down with him in the same spot. I know he doesn't need to molt because he just molted! Should I just leave them alone, and let nature do its thing, or should I do something about this?
Also, the freshly molted crab does enjoy digging around a lot even when he's not molting. How do I make sure he doesn't dig up and eat the other one that's about to start molting?

As long as you're conditions are right, minimum 6 inches substrate, heat/humidity, diet such as calcium and protein daily, they shouldn't bother each other. Crabs like to dig and tunnel. Even if they dig down in same spot, they may be on opposite sides of the tank.

Ok. What are the best foods for calcium and protein? They seem to really like freeze dried shrimp, so I guess that's protein?

Shrimp, dried crickets, chicken, raw or cooked, any meat, raw or cooked. Just not seasoned. Nuts. Egg. Egg shell is good calcium. Raw or hard boiled. You can leave a cuttlebone in there at all times for calcium. Read through the safe/unsafe food list. And read the food pyramid.
