HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I purchased a new small crab and after about one week he went under and has been for five weeks now. Another large crab went under about two weeks ago. Today I hear what sounds like chirping coming from under the substrate. I have never heard this before. I worried the first molter is finished and maybe now eating the second one?! Hopefully maybe the first one is just finished and vocalizing? Any advice?

Definitely don't worry about it. I heard a few of mine chirping a few nights ago. Its normal.

Thanks for the reassurance. The noises continued all day but I haven’t heard it since nor has anyone surfaced. I was hoping at least to see one of them up the next morning. The wait continues
