Tunnel Collapse Caused by a Drop?

I recently dropped a hard cover book right next to the tank (it’s normally on the kid to prevent escapees) Could this have collapsed one of my molters? They have been molting for a month now so it would be right in the middle of their molt. I notice a little bit of the moss pit “jumped” a bit.

Personally, I doubt it. I would think it would take quite a bit larger vibrations to collapse a tunnel.

These are one of the molts which just feel wrong for some reason. I don't think she made it. Is putting salt in the substrate while mixing it water harmful?

No, a bit of salt in the substrate won’t affect anything unless you dump a gigaton in.

Ok thank you. The thing is the molt isn't even a long molt or anything but it just feels off.

Thanks, but I really feel like she didn't make it. If I just didn't drop the book she would have probably been up by now...

I think you should wait and give her a chance. You never know.

I feel for you. I have two down and I nearly knocked the tank over the other day.. I was working on some nearby furniture.. and I stood up and wasn't watching where I was going and my butt hit the tank.. lifting it off the stand and it slammed back down onto the stand. I've been sick to my stomach about it ever since. I just have to tell myself that there isn't much I can do except wait and see.

At least a plus is that when I smell the moss pit, it smells like moss and not like a dead crab (this is relevant because I currently have a different crab molting in the moss pit)
