Leave food out for molter??

Hi! I have 1 hermit crab currently who has gone down to molt. He is the only 1 we have in our 10 gallon tank. Since he JUST went down to molt, we don't bother leaving out food or water dish for him. Is there a possibility that he will come out in the middle of night for food/water even if he's in the middle of a molt? Thanks all!

I would def still leave out fresh and salt water and some dry food for him. You may think he's molting, but he could just be digging to destress. If he comes up at night when you're not looking, he'll be looking for his goodies.

It’s usually good to have some food or water available in case they come up early. Not a whole lot, but enough for a light snack. Dry foods are nice for this since they don’t have to be replaced as often.

Currently all 7 of my hermies are underground, but one or two seem to be only hiding or destressing because I fed them fresh food the other night and it was definitely gone through and someone chowed down. So I would still keep feeding your crabby! Never know if they come back out they could be hungry!
