Dig up or not?

Post by Guest » Tue Feb 26, 2008 1:39 pm

Hello,

I have 2 crabbitats set up. My main one is one I upgraded to, 35 gallon long and I have 11 crabs in there. I have a 29 with one dug down crab in it. I have been peeking at him now and then and he has been down for 3-4 weeks. He has a nice little cave down there, but does not appear to be molting. Moves around, reacts to movement and light. I am wondering if I could dig him out of the old tank. Why I ask is that we are moving this week and while I have the old tank just sitting it would be easier and safer for him if I could move him into the main tank for the moving. Any opinions? TIA,

Sydney

Really, I totally advise AGAINST digging up the crab. Just wait the week and see how it ends up. Good luck!

Tough call. You call always try the old cut off body to protect your hermie from any dangers.
