I was so excited a couple of weeks ago when my smaller large PP -- Red Sonja -- came up from a molt all beautiful and purple. I've had Red for about 6 months, but had recently bought a larger large I named Conan the Barbarian, and they both went down for their first molt at the same time.
Well:
A. Since Red is a smaller crab I thought I would see her back up sooner.
B. Since Conan went down to molt roughly five minutes after I brought him home, I was really afraid he would quietly die underground and I wouldn't know about it until the smell hit me

And so... I totally misidentified my happy molter! That is until yesterday, when I found Red at the tail end of her molt during my deep clean. She's very, very fuzzy

BTW, what should have been a real dead-giveaway as to Conan's identity? His gender! Except that when I brought him home I had a hard time figuring out what he was and finally determined he was a he. Guess what? In his newly molted form "he's" really a girl

It's all good. Sonja looks great, and my big-biggie Conanita (Connette, Conista, Conelita...) isn't a rotten smear at the bottom of my 'tat.
