I have pics, but I've been wildly busy, what with the kids all being sick and homeschooling being declared illegal in the state of CA and all
...
Pearly the Rug came up from a molt a couple of days ago, and she's the most gorgeous apricot color! I have to find old pics of her to see what color she was, but it wasn't this beautiful shade
.
Good molts make my week

Congrats on the molt!!
And um... Here's the Canadian feeling out of the loop... Why did they declare homeschooling illegal? Why not set out restrictions and regulations instead?

Ugh, you are caught up in the CA homeschool BS? I'm sorry.
We HS in FL, and I can't imagine having to deal w/ such sweeping changes to our lives.
Congrats on the good molt. She's very pretty.

I looked at the pics after I downloaded them and you can hardly see the crab against the granite
.
The Court of Appeals who made the decision about homeschooling has agreed to re-hear the case, which puts their decisions on hold. They say there are something like 700,000 homeschoolers in the state of CA, so I figure it would take them a while to prosecute us anyway
. Always nice to meet another HSer!!!!! How many of us got started crabbing as a school science "project"

I saw that the appeal has some nice support from people in high places. Let's hope they fix this mess.
We got into crabbing b/c my 10yo DD wanted a pet of "her own." I think I scared her off of them after the addiction struck me.
She now enjoys her
single snake. My girls are actually doing homeschool co-op presentations on an animal of their choosing this week! My 10yr old chose snakes, but my 9 yo chose HERMIT CRABS!
