Hi everyone,
2 weeks ago one of my golfball sized PP's dug down into the substrate to molt. As he is of medium size I was expecting him to be down for at least a month. TO my surprise he's already come up! He's doesn't seem ill or anything. He's got a nice bright red color and he ate all the exo. How come the molt was so quick? Is this normal for his size?

It all depends on the crab, really, how long it takes him to molt.
If you're worried, then just watch him for a while, but personally, I wouldn't be so worried.
Congrats on the molt, by the way.

Would you mind if your crab speaks to a few of mine. I had small crab that stayed down for 71 days and another for 17 weeks!

I guess all u can do is just let them do their thing. As long as there isn't a fishy smell then they're fine
. This is actually my 5th successful molt of my 3 pp's

Congrats! I'm hoping that Habibi, my smallish medium PP, is just down for a molt or de-stressing. I got him 3 weeks ago and haven't seen him since the first day.
He must have come up sometime during the first few days, since his old shell was sitting in the shell pile, but he's being awfully shy otherwise.
Maybe he just doesn't like being the smallest one in the tank.
