How long does it take in months and molts (number) to grow back? Will it be a mini claw first or grow back normal. Crab is a small and lost it pre molt but is now happy. Also is it safe to introduce a new crab while mine is missing the big claw. Thanks.

i'm not the most experienced, but i'm pretty sure it will grow back on the first molt smaller than normal. And as long as you know your crabs aren't aggressive and you crab that's missing the claw has it's hard exterior body, it should be fine id think.

It will come in smaller and weirdly colored on the first molt, and it can take several molts after that for it to look normal and be the proper size again.

Keep an eye on them when you first introduce them just to make sure since they are vulnerable to their own kind without that big claw. As long as they're both okay with each other they should be fine. Personally, I would ISO the new crab for two or three days with a ton of extra shells and lots of good food like shrimp and circkets and fresh coconut so that it has a full stomach and a comfortable home and there should be no problems then like shell envy. :)
