Viola Shell Modification

Post by wolfnipplechips » Mon Nov 20, 2017 2:36 pm

My violas don't like to change shells, but one finally did today! She's been wearing this shell for about 3 years, and now it's pretty heavily modified on the inside. :o

Thought it was neat. :) I love seeing how they've modified shells and since I have no more E's, I hardly get to see anymore!

Do they edit it with their Uropods and Telson or something else?
One or hopefully two Clypeatus
Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.

So neat! I keep waiting for my Rug to change to see if she does something similar. She's been wearing the same shell for a year and a half now and it makes me wonder!

I have a Purple Pincher acting like an Ecuadorian. He put on a Gold Mouth turbo awhile back that had been worn by his previous tank mate and he hasn't changed out of it even when I try to give him other options to choose from.

Oh wow! (Just seeing this now)
You can really see where the columella had been improved upon! I think that's one of the clearer examples I've seen to date! :D

(Helps that you're great at picking out sweet illustrative angles... was thinking that just today when looking at your breeding photos - weird question, but have you ever done photography for natural history guides or the like? I think you'd be great at at.)

Thanks! I actually got a job offer a few years back for that! But I was still in school and it wasn't in the same town and yeah...couldn't do it. :P Now I don't even have a camera since it and my best lenses went swimming. Just have my phone.

Every time you mention it, I start tearing up. I miss your photos so much! What had you been using? You always had the best shots.

Awwwwww :( I used a Canon 7D (the old version) and canon lenses. I'll get them again eventually! :)
