I have a stubborn crab who won't change her wardrobe...
She's in a Cittarium pica (magpie) shell, which she wore home from the pet store, and it's probably the shell she was caught in. It's clearly too small for her now, and I have some appropriately-sized turbo shells sitting in her enclosure, but she doesn't seem interested. Could she just be so attached to the magpie shell that she won't change into anything but another magpie? If that's the case, where can I buy some for her? I checked the sites I've ordered turbos from, but either they don't have the magpies, or the ones they have are the wrong size. The shell she's in now has a 1.25" opening, so I'm thinking she needs 1.5-2". But I could be wrong on that as well... I'm including a photo of her so maybe some of you more experienced crabbers might have a better estimate of what she needs. She's tucked in as far as she can go:

I have a crab who won't change out of a stinking painted shell, I have no tips but maybe someone else might have an idea

I think magpies max out at that size. Just keep offering her a variety of PP preferred shells (and doesn't hurt to throw a few oddballs in, if you can/want), and she'll change when she's ready. Her fit in that shell really isn't too bad. A little snug, yes, but some crabs prefer it that way.
The only tip I have is to keep extra shells clean and try putting them back in the tank still wet. Sometimes that helps catch their attention.
Also make sure you're offering the correct size. Magpies are shaped differently than turbos, so you'll need to adjust accordingly. http://www.hermitcrabpatch.com/kb_results.asp?ID=17
I hope this helps.
