HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I purchased a couple of shells today because I bought a crab much smaller than any other crabs I have had, and all my current shells were way to big. I didnt notice at the time that both shells have a black market dot on them, presumably to distinguish them by price or make it obvious that they are sold at this store. I tried washing it off but it didnt work. Do yall think these will be okay for my little guy? its just a small dot on the opening.

I have a few that had things like "XL" written inside in permanent marker. They came with an adoption so I'm not sure where they were purchased. It does fade over time though and I have, after the initial clean and scrubbing, went ahead and placed them in the shell shops.

Edit to add: that was a little over a year ago. No problems that I can tell.

Rubbing alcohol will sometimes remove permanent marker. I haven't tried it on a shell though.

Off bug spray works on permanent marker too but I would boil right after to get the smell and chemical off

Our PetSmart store marks them that way, different color dots with a sharpie for pricing. A good scrub and boil and mine of come off well.

I have used an eraser from a pencil to remove perm marker,works good.
