Finally cleaned up my 10 gallon isolation tank in which kiwi passed away in :( i removed two turbos and boiled them washed them with dechlor water than boiled again and let dry over night they turned from green and brown to a dull white does any one know why and what's wrong with them ? I'm afraid to put them in my main tank.

I also want to add once their wet they look normal they have been deep cleaned 2 times no idea why they look white like this

Its just the calcium in the shell. If you want, rub them with olive oil and it will turn back into their natural luster.

Edit: and minerals in the water that's deposited/dried on the shells will turn them white as well!
