HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Thought you guys might think it's interesting that Papaya picked a Rapana rapiformus to wear last night. I bought the shell without realizing it was on the unpopular list and, once I realized it was, I figured it didn't hurt to keep it in there and I'm glad I did! Because he's a frequent shell changer (this is shell change #5 since I got him vs Egg's zero changes), who knows how long he'll stay in it but I'm glad he's getting some use out of it.

Holy moly! He's huge!!! Looks like a happy crab to me!
I always find it so odd when one of my guys pick up a shell that's not preferred.

I hope he picks one eventually too! He throws them off the shell shop onto the sub. I was putting them back everyday but have given up to every few days lol.

He is huge! So is his companion, Egg. Was able to snap this pic of them together (with the bonus of the tiny E on the right).

What kind of shell is egg in? I have a crab with a shell like that that is getting big for it.

It's called a pink murex

I have a crab named Papaya too! He's tiny, and in a apple murex. I also have that exact shell in my tat!
