HCA: Hermit Crab Association

So I'm pretty sure Haitian Tree Snail shells are supposed to be safe for a hermit crab, but I don't know about the openings, they don't look too safe. Is this what they're supposed to look like?

I've had wild hermits come wearing them, but I've never had one in captivity choose one when there are other options. Usually they see another shell and bail immediately!
