HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I don't have taptalk so I can't post pics. I can send via email though. Anyway I have a mediumish large hermit crab and he is just at that transition that I can't find shells that fit him. I can only find large or jumbos. I don't really have any shells that fit him they r either too big or too small and I feel bad. I also don't want shell fighting.

Maybe get a different kind of shell? You may have already done this, but I was thinking if perhaps it’s a different type with a different shape opening...it could fit differently. Just a thought for the transition period. My shy girl Hermie is in a turbo shell that is too big and doesn’t seem to be interested in the smaller turbos, so I bought a variety pack (unpolished) that has different kinds. Just put them in today and anxious to see what happens tonight! Really trying to get our other guy, Flash, out of his painted shell . What size is his shell? Meaning how many inches is the opening? I can look around for you and see, if possible.

You will want to measure the opening, and then find a seller who measures the openings in small increments. Some places measure in 1/16th inch increments, so you can get a precise size up from what you have now.
