My hermit crab, General passed away.
He is a strawberry hermit crab and went down molting last month (his third time molting).
I am figuring out the reason of his death as he wasn't disturbed during molting. I found that his shell has abnormal white dots, a circle bite mark and a broken hole. Is this related to any illness of hermit crab?

Re: White dots on shell
The seashells they wear are borrowed and are completely dead and inert by the time they get them. Nothing that would effect a hermit crab would effect the sea shell.
What you are seeing looks like damage the snail took while still alive and before the crab ever got the shell. Sea urchins and other snails will try to drill through shells to kill and eat the snail inside. That's what causes the circular marks on a lot of seashells.
I'm so sorry you lost your straw.
