HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hi all! Has anyone noticed if their crabs have a preference for a certain kind of shell treatment? Do your crabs seem to prefer pearled, striped, or just polished shells? Or does it not seem to matter?

I think mine usually seem to go for any of the polished shells. I think I only have one crab in my big tank not in a polished shell.
