Hi friends ! I made a post a little while ago about finding an amazing deal on S-XXL shells! I finally got them! They needed a good bath, so I did that, they’re so beautiful yet so dull, I’ve read online that 1200 grit sandpaper may polish em up, has anyone done this? Any tips?

Don't know about the sandpaper, but I've heard on here some people use olive oil on the outside to shine them up. Never tried it myself tho.

Rebuffing the exterior with a fine grained sandpaper may help, but to get the mirror polish they come with would probably require a good polishing compound and a buffing wheel. The other thing to keep in mind is that the colored layer that has been exposed is already thin, so too much more polishing will go right through it and also make them look dull. For safetys sake, wear glasses! Chipped and flaking shells can happen easily and can cause eye damage.
