Encouraging Shell Switching?

Hi! Today I just got a new hermie, Crunchy!
He had a painted shell when I got him, but I'm hoping he'll switch shells soon. It looks like he had tried on a non-painted shell and then decided it was too small and switched back to the painted shell. I have lots of shells in the crabitat, there's a turbo shell that I just got today that I think may fit Crunchy, is there anything I can do to encourage him to switch shells?

Just keep an eye on him when you can. It may take a bit, but the minute he switches again, grab the painted shell and throw it out before he can hop back in. Easier said than done I know lol.

Also, I've heard soaking the shells in your marine salt water may make them seem more appealing.

I boiled the shell, so far he hasn't tried it on but one of my other hermies, Boba, is wearing a shell that's literally identical to Crunchy's excepts it's not painted, and it's a bit too big for Boba. Maybe I can see if Boba will switch shells and then Crunchy can have Boba's current shell
