HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Currently don’t own any hermits, I was just wondering how you would go about purchasing shells after measuring? If a crab has a 1-inch opening, would you offer more shells of that size, or move up to 1.5? I do know where to purchase shells thanks to this forum, my confusion just stems from how to go about getting the proper size for hermits

I usually try to get both current size and larger, since they will appreciate having options now but will need larger ones later

It can be tricky finding the next size up, though, since growth rates can vary. I usually just grab the next half-inch up
