How long did you have them in the ground? I just started mine. So I'm curious too.

I've heard the ones from trader Joe's don't gel, so I wonder if that has something to do with it. Usually I overkill with a bunch of chia and a couple days later I have sprouts.

This last picture is where they have been digging them up and eating on them. Which is awesome!! I'm glad they are eating them. Digging them up gives them something else to do!

Love the chia seed look in the tat! We have several scattered around as well. I just get any organic chia seed from our grocery since I usually put them in our green smoothies. I just literally sprinkle a pinch of them in the tat maybe once a week and some the crabs eat and some sprout :D It's a win-win deal!

I sprinkle some widely across the tank. I usually end up with plenty of them sprouting, but I think my guys eat half of the seeds before they can sprout. And then when I do get sprouts, they're mowed down pretty quick. haha
Just a couple of pictures of my hermies.

So about the chia seeds... I got mine from hermies kitchen! I wetted my sub down with a mister, put a nice helping of seeds on the sub, sprayed again, then a layer of EE just enough to cover the sub below (and hide your chia)!
