Well I got my first hermits as an adult. Had them for years as a kid. Tonight is their first night but I loaded their bowls. One has hikari crab food, hikari freeze dried tubifex worms and seaweed. The other bowl has one of the packets I got in the lots from Amy's crabtreats. Tomorrow night I will add sprouts and veggies and frozen brine shrimp. I still want to make my own crab food. Need to get a list of the musts and head to Spouts

Yesterday, it looked like one had been up. (All 4 are apparently pet sand at the moment.) I put in shrimp tails and legs, seaweed, walnuts and coconut. Nothing was eaten. :-(

I gave mine a de-seeded sole apple core last night and like 5 minutes later, I had 3 on top of it, pigging out.

I know it! My three PP's love apple and I give them some everyday, along with a healthy variety of other grains, seeds, fruits and veggies and tiny shrimps.

Went to visit the crabs (-I mean my boyfriend!), and gave them...

Passion fruit
Omega One frozen clam on the half shell (bivalve power!)
Thawed Hikari Mysis
Peantbutter
Pear sliver
Org. root veggie baby food.

Wish i could make them dinner every night. Sigh.

i was looking through all the food I got from Amy's Crab treats on ebay. They all look great but i was wondering if it is better to just offer a diferent food every day or so. Or to just mix everything in the mixture Im working on. Since there is so much, I know they will get a pretty good variety. What do ya all think. Of course there is a separate bowl with "wet" foods too

Different mixes of stuff!! Variety on rotation! That way they won't get bored with the availability. Also, you can name them all (the mixes), which is my personal fav. part. There can be puns... and puns are the best worst thing ever.

Two more new mixes I made today, for when I don't feel like 'cooking', or it looks like everyone has gone down:

Dicing and oven-drying fruits & veggies has replaced late night net crochet'ing as my favourite insomniac pass-time. I just love tiny jars too much. :)

I just threw in a small frog and a caterpillar.

Six hermies in 37G bow front, and two more in a ten-gallon tank.

Like, dried, or still squishy?
