Today's menu:

Raw beef, orange bell pepper and avocado. They're preferring the orange bell pepper.

Last night was Yellow Squash, green grape (split open), Fresh Basil, Chia seeds, Bee pollen, crushed egg shell, freeze dried red shrimp, cooked chicken and a little olive oil. And honey in a side shell. I saw my recent adoption chowing down on the chicken and honey. The night before I think my smallest crab carted off some squash.

So, I've been making their dinners for the whole week on Saturday or Sunday and keeping it in the fridge. So their dinners are almost exactly the same all week. I offer calcium (crushed egg shell) in a side clamshell and honey the same way. There's also a bit of cuttlebone laying about and a little bit of millet spray hanging up. I forgot I also sprinkle Chia seeds right on the sub, I keep hoping they sprout although I think *somebody* keeps gobbling them up!

Anyway, this week's menu:
Chicken, Eggs, Shrimp, Ground Turkey (at least two choices daily)
From my garden: bell pepper, yellow squash, basil, kale and a bit of rhubarb.
Also, chia seeds, cooked brown rice, and bee pollen.

My one crab above ground got peach and nectarine slices last night. Although they're on the safe list, my crabs don't like apples, cherries or avocados. But they WILL eat bell peppers, especially the orange bell peppers.

This week on the menu is: Chicken, steak, crickets (first time opening a can, and YUCK!), cooked brown rice, and from my organic garden: a couple blueberries, cucumber, zucchini, pea pods, red pepper, and green pepper.
Every day it's a choice of two protein.
Also available to them for free range is raw local honey, cuttlebone, and HCP oyster shell mineral supplement. Tonight they'll get some strawberry tops, too. I've been struggling to add fruit to their offerings.
The red pepper and brown rice (the usual) has been a hit so far.

Well last night was interesting. Our power went out around 5pm. We went out to eat ourselves because we couldn't open the fridge or cook. The power was suppose to come back on around 9pm. We came back at 9:45 and the power was still out (typical).

I couldn't open the fridge to get out the hermies prepared fresh food. Although I'm sure going a day without food would have been completely fine, I wanted to feed them. I grabbed a flashlight and dug around my dry food selection. I remembered I actually had some HCP basic hermit diet that came with an adoption, so they got that and a bit of dried fruit.

I was thankful we had it!

Btw, our power didn't resume until around 5pm!

I gave them raw salmon and pureed pears for the first time last night. The salmon was very popular but it looked like they barely touched the pears. We haven't been cooking a lot this past week but we had the "okay, let's stop eating out so much" convo earlier so I'm definitely going to offer them more raw meat this week lol.

Tonight, in addition to their daily coconut oil, honey, and THCP's Honey Calcium, they're getting crushed river shrimp, chia seeds, shredded coconut, and popcorn.

Tonight HCP surf and turf, mineral supplement and dried greens.

My husband thinks I'm insane! I made a Garden Feast Mix yesterday with ingredients from the garden -
Basil (leaves and buds)
Rose (three different kinds/colors)
Eggplant
Blackberry (leaves and fruit)
Kale
Squash blossom
Bloodworms
I dehydrated all the herbs and veggies and blended them in a spice grinder then added bloodworms.

The white powder is the Strong Bone Mix -
Eggshell boiled
Coconut chips
Collagen
Blend all together :) I'm going to add spirulina and coral for the next batch! Image
