I don't eat peppers, and the crabs already have enough dehydrated peppers. Or maybe I can buy the peppers, pick out all the seeds, and ask my neighbors if they want the pepper parts lol.

Are these spicy, or are these bell pepper flakes?
Are the crabs allowed to have spicy peppers?
Thanks!!

These have some kick to them. They are crab safe. I read of people offering extremely hot peppers to crabs. Some even said their crabs seem to like them.

Oh yeah! Mine adored hot peppers when I could still be around them. Mammals are very affected by capsaicin, but other animals don't taste it. To them it's just a good meal.

Thanks Motör and Wodes! I need to place an Amazon order, so I'll see if I can find some good organic spicy flakes on there.

I'm on the lookout now for pepper seeds on the internet.

Wouldn't that just be "crushed red pepper seeds" spice? You could get the organic one. Mine prefer fresh seeds though. I'm sure if you asked a few neighbors or friends who cook if you could have their pepper tops with seeds, they'd give them to you. They usually get tossed anyway.

HOT PEPPER FLAKES? I thought you weren't supposed to feed hermit crabs anything spicy? Can I feed my hermit crabs the seeds of green peppers without doing anything special to them?

Hot peppers are fine for crabbies. I give mine red pepper flakes and they really like them. It's sort of like birds, they don't have the receptors to feel hot stuff like we do.

Oh def! I've dehydrated red, green, orange, and yellow bell peppers for my crabs. You can feed them fresh too, mine just aren't as into fresh foods as they are dry. My guys absolutely love the seeds too.
