If I use diatomaceous earth on my garden veggies and fruits to deter pests outside, is it safe to feed them to my hermit crabs after they are rinsed off?

Yes, they are. Diatomaceous earth isn’t going to bind to the food so any that’s actually on the produce will come off with water.
