they will drag sub into the honey, but at least in my tank, they keep the mess in the shell

I tried honey. They loved it! The first food I gave them after the honey was broccoli. Pretty sure they weren’t happy with that after having the sweet honey

OK so apparently now my crabs LOOOOVVVVEEEEEEE NUUUUTTTTSSSSS!!!! They all take the nuts wherever they go. I have plenty in there but still I find the nuts hidden with the crabs. SO FUNNY.

My crabs each have their own favorites. For a while there, Pumpkin was the only crab up (she just went down) and I found out she REALLY loves my handmade duck egg popcorn. Also fish.

Oooh, I'm going to have to try that! Do you think it would work if I made a "sandwhich" for the hermies using coconut flesh as "bread" and put honey in the middle? Also does the honey get stuck on the hermit crabs gills or claws or anything? I've heard to watch them when they eat peanut butter in case it blocks up their gills, but I don't know if it's the same for honey

I found powdered duck egg on Etsy, and hand-popped popcorn, mixed in coconut oil then tossed in the powder.

Just gave mine 'seafood stew' as a special treat for the M's gotcha day! They swarmed the food dish within minutes and carted off pieces to eat. Kendall's already coming back for seconds!

'recipe': I took a bunch of fishy/ocean food items and put them in a mason jar. Added boiling water and let it sit for about an hour to soften dried items and thaw frozen ones, then drained and served. It's got tuna, salmon, sardine, river shrimp, dulse seaweed, krill, and daphnia (sea fleas).

Edit: it's really stinky, so don't say I didn't warn you!

Mine go crazy over crayfish. I live near a creek where I catch them. A small part of me dies inside when I kill them, but I think my hermies are superior to crayfish. They pick them clean. It might be because its fresh. They also like peach and coconut. Once I saw one of mine chasing another because he had a peach slice and was running away with it.
