is this food safe for my crab?

so uh…the food ingredients lists corn and soybean.. is this safe? I’ve heard some people say it’s bad for my crab. 🥲

As far as I know, corn and soybeans are both fine for hermit crabs, I wouldn't feed them as a standard food though because they're not super nutricious (I probably spelled that wrong srry I can't be bothered lol). What food is the soybean and corn in?

it came with a kit i bought when i was in north carolina at a super wings 🥲 it’s not a brand really so i cant tell u 😭😭

I got my crabs 2 weeks ago in the OBX at 2 different Super Wings. Lol.

Corn and soy are both safe foods for crabs. They both have protein and other nutrients - not sure where you would have heard that they are not nutritious or 'good' foods to feed.

I used to worry about my crabs eating corn and soybean too. From what I've read and experienced, they're not the best for crabs. I switched to a crab-specific food and noticed a big improvement in their health and behavior. If you're unsure, it might be worth chatting with a vet who specializes in marine life.

Not sure where you live, but a person in most places in North America would have difficulty finding a vet that knew much about hermit crabs.
Also, soy and corn are perfectly safe and a good source of nutrition including protein. Please post your source that they are not.
